My daily life in Japan.

My best friend finally succeeded in quit the job

He said good-bye to the former company.

He was a web designer when he entered the company. But his latest job was doing everything for his boss. Sometimes he had to go convenience store to buy a potato tips for his boss.
For his boss, potato tips was very important to enjoy TV show. Isn't it ridiculous. Still, he was hesitating to quit the job because he has a family. Once become an unemployment it is very hard to find new job.
Besides, there was no reason not to quit the job.

Fortunately, he was succeeded in finding a new job.

He got one month off. Since he had been dealing with his boss until late like everyday, his 7-month-old daughter was afraid of my friend. My friend had seen his daughter only when the infant was sleeping.

Finally he got a time to saw the daughter and the time has come to family becomes a real family.

I really happy about it.

English:difference between "will" and "be going to"

This is what I guess.

I have an opportunity to talk with English speakers.
First, I have to say that English is not first language for them and I am not bilingual. So, my guessing may not be correct.

The difference between "will" and "be going to"

WILL contains will."BE GOING TO" sounds like "BE SCHEDULE TO".

e.g.

I will be there on 6PM.

For me, this means "I want to be there on 6PM"

I am going to be there on 6PM.
This sounds "My schedule is being there on 6PM".

If somebody help me to wash my dish and then he says,I will do it.
This sounds "Let me do it instead of you".
This expression could not be "I am going to do it".

I am not sure if this is correct. But I think there is the difference between two of them.

Why does Mt. Fuji attract foregner?

I wonder why Mt. Fuji attracts foreign people.

One answer me that it is easy to draw. Even kids can draw it. The shape is a beutiful triangle.
One said it is well-known. It was 5 years old when he knew Mt. Fuji.
An European guy said it had volcano. But normally, mountains have usually volcano in Japan.

Almost all foreigner are happy to see Mt. fuji.

Is Mt. Fuji so famous?
Maybe it is.

For Japanese, of course, Mt. Fuji is the best mountain. But it is not only because its beauty but also Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan.

Yutori generation

Yutori generation is those who are educated by Yutori teaching method.
25 years old or under are yutori generation.

Yutori originally means 'not to hurry, go slowly or keep time for yourself'.

Yutori teaching method

Yutori teaching method's concept is

  • Not educate too much.
  • Give children more latitude.

The typical example is that they are educated pai as 3. Pai is not 3.14 for them.

This concept started because the former government thought Japanese would have be able to more relax if education give children more latitude.

If it is good to say or not, many people think that yutori is not educated well.
So, if yutori people behave or do something bad, we would think 'He did it because he is yutori' or 'They are not educated'.

Of course, I know there are the many exception. Actually, one of my friend does not have any yutori atmosphere.

My experience with yutori girl

I have one worker under me. She is yutori generation. At the office, she texts 10 times or more per day with her phone in front of the desk. At least she should go out from the office when she wants to do it.
She has just graduated this March and started an adult life. Normally, people are supposed to be nervous first one or two month. But she is not nervous at all.

THIS IS YUTORI.

I am writing this at the office though :P

How Japan is safe

  • People in the world think Japan is not safe.
  • People in Japan think eastern Japan is not safe.
  • People in eastern Japan think Tohoku in not safe.
  • People in Tokyo think Tohoku in not safe, too.
  • People in Tohoku think Fukushima is not safe.
  • People in Fukushima think ashore of Fukushima is not safe.

This is the fact.

My best friend wants to quit the job

I went to a dinner with my best friend. He was working today. Like other Japanese, he has to work long.

Though I texted him in the afternoon, he didn't reply me. Our plan was eating out on Friday or Saturday. So, if he is busy today, it is ok for me to eat out tomorrow. He didn't text me until he finish the job.
I can understand because he can finish the job when his boss says 'finish'. That's ridiculous, isn't it?

Anyway, he texted me half past nine. we ate out. He is eager to quit the job. He is sick of his crazy job and work environment. Actually he had a job interview two weeks ago. He passed it and going to be interviewed by that company's president on next Monday.

We talk about his company's terrible work environment. I used to work with him, so, I know how terrible his company is.
Before he tried to find new job, I'd really wanted to advise him to quit the job. But he has a family and he has house. It is not easy to quit the job without thinking about money. So, my advice was like 'It is not bad to try to find a new job.'Today I am happy to hear his story.

The next problem is 'how to quit current job.' We are sure his boss will be mad. A sort of violence may happen. He is afraid of the boss's craziness.
My advice is 'just not to go to the company. that's it.' My friend is not so immature, so, probably he won't do like that. But I want him to know that there are many choices to quit the job. I know lawyers. It's gonna be a no problem.

I hope he will pass the interview and finally quit the job.
