Golden week is the only a few times that Japanese can take a holiday without thinking about their company. (Some does though)
In my case, I have got 10 days holiday.
The golden week in this year
- 29th April
National holiday. I forgot the name of the holiday. But it was a former emperor's birthday.
- 30th April
Saturday. Half of the people take a holiday if the company allows
- 1st May
Sunday. The holiday for most people.
- 2nd May
I took an unpaid holiday. This day is a holiday for half of the people, I think.
- 3rd May
Memorial day of constitution. Holiday.
- 4th May
I forgot why it is the holiday. But it is a holiday anyway.
- 5th May
The day is called day of kids, however, this is the day that kids respect their parents.
- 6th May
I took an unpaid holiday but my friend will work.
- 7th May
In Japan, still half of the people work on Saturday. I am not sure how many people will work on this day though.
- 8th
Sunday. The final day of the golden week.
